About Kevin
How did Kevin become so interested in Real Estate?
With a BA degree in Health Service Administration, a Masters in Business and Marketing, Kevin’s first introduction to Real Estate was while working for an area hospital as VP of Operations, Marketing and Construction Management. The hospital was in need of expanding and therefore began to look at land adjacent to the hospital property. At that time, working with an attorney, the hospital acquired the needed property as it became available and later began construction of a new wing. “It was great experience working with the owners of the property, the attorney and then the architects as the new wing was planned, constructed and later proved to serve the community quite well.”
Later in life Kevin acquired property of his own that he decided to turn it into investment/rental property. Knowing nothing about investing in real estate he decided to take some classes, “not really intending to make a career of it, but I just enjoy learning.” At the encouragement of his instructor, he soon realized he could put his knowledge to work for others, and took the licensing exam, and began his career in Real Estate Sales.
Since 1999, Kevin has helped many buyers and sellers purchase and/or sell their homes. Understanding the local Central Illinois and Springfield, Illinois market, Kevin looks at each home realistically and honestly. For buyers, he tries to look at the home as if he were making the purchase himself. For sellers, he provides an honest evaluation, making suggestions for improvements, staging, and provides tips to make it more attractive to potential buyers. Prior to listing the home on the MLS he attempts to look at the home again as a buyer would look at it and consider it for purchase, while trying to get the best price for the home based on current market trends.
Although, Kevin’s focus in past years had concentrated in the area of residential homes he also has experience with commercial real estate sales and 1031 exchanges for those who have interest in investment property.
Kevin prides himself on providing excellent customer service. Just as you would expect good customer service at a local restaurant or hotel, Kevin strives to achieve a Five Star service rating with his clients and customers. Selling or buying a home is a major decision and getting the most for your money whether buying or selling is important in this process. Kevin will make every effort to make the buying or selling process a pleasant experience, working with your best interest in mind, just as if he were buying or selling his own home.
On a personal level, Kevin enjoys acting and participating in a Christian drama group in the Central Illinois area, called “For ONE Ministry, Inc.” (See ForONEministry.org) and recently went on his first mission trip with this group to the Ukraine as well. He also enjoys other hobbies including swimming, watersking, camping, watching baseball and football. In additin, he has several local recommendations for not-to-miss spots, including the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. Also “Augie’s Front Burner and Bella Milano are two of his favorite restaurants.
